Children,be strong. |

In recent years, bullying
among children has become a
major social issue. As it leads
to suicide in some worst cases,
I agree that it is certainly a
serious problem.
However, bullying does not
exist only in the child’s
community. It also exists in
the adult world. Look around
your workplace. Can you see
cases of bullying all around
you? And it is not even limited
to the workplace. Wherever
there are more than three
people, there is a possibility
that one of them will be
bullied.
We are not
equal. We are born and raised
in different ways. People try
to distinguish themselves from
others on various levels such
as through ability, economic
status and personality.
It is therefore necessary to
accept that you will never be
able to escape from bullying.
Bullying obviously
existed when I was at school,
but I have not heard of any
cases which led to suicides.
In the end, I can only
conclude that children in the
present day and age have become
too weak. I believe that
overprotective parents, fewer
siblings, and staying inside to
play computer games alone
rather than playing outside
with others are some of the
reasons why they are becoming
so vulnerable.
I say
this again – bullying will
never cease.
If so,
what can we do? While we work
to eliminate heinous cases of
bullying, I think that society
as a whole needs to make an
effort to make our youngsters
stronger.
There must be
numerous ways to raise your
children to grow up tougher:
playing group sports such as
soccer and baseball; or
participating in group
activities such as boy scouts
and girl guides.
Even
if you make your children study
hard at cram schools in order
to enter prestigious schools,
it would all be for nothing and
even do them more harm than
good if they become truants or
get the so called “May
depression” as soon as they
start work and quit.
The top priority should be to
nurture your children to become
strong in both body and mind.
