												| | It is said that special skills and expertise will no longer be required
in most of our jobs due to the
												development of computers and
												robots in the near future.
 Primary industries,
												such as agriculture, fishing,
												and forestry, are likely to
												continue to rely on manpower,
but the number of people who
												work in urban and industrial
												areas may be drastically
												reduced.

 Some of
them can switch to the service
industries, but I am afraid that
most of them will not even get
												new jobs. Meanwhile, there may
be a growth in the need for
												routinized work, such as
												inputting data or pushing single
												buttons according to the
												instructions of systems made by
												a handful of geniuses.

 However,
this creates an issue - How we
												prepare children for their
												future careers. What computers
and robots cannot do are jobs
												that require communication
												skills based on artistic sense
												unique to humans. Such
												occupations include doctors,
												nurses, lawyers, consultants,
												customer services, and welfare
												services.

 The
												economic gap between the rich
and the poor is a social problem
not only in Japan but also all
												over the world. However, the
												increased presence of computers
and robots will force people to
												choose whether to do mindless
												work or do intellectual or
												communication skill-based jobs
that pay well, which may make
												the gap larger.
