My favorite song is
"Inspiration" (performed by
French guitarist Gipsy Kings),
which is used for the ending
theme of TV drama "Onihei
Hankacho," and I am using it for
my cellphone melody.
The
definition of inspiration
includes "inhalation,"
"suggesting opinions," "new
idea" and "sacred revelation."
In this column, I would like to
talk about inspiration referring
to the latter two. Life
always involves worries and
confusion. In this age,
particularly, people face many
difficult problems they cannot
talk with others in turning
points in life, daily work, and
home life. On such an
occasion, many become obsessed
with what they should do and
drive themselves into a corner,
ending up having a nervous
breakdown or giving in to
despair. However,
if you cannot find any solution
after seeking for a certain
period of time, you should stop,
clear your head, and try again
later.
In my case, I
tried it again when seeing the
outside scenery while hanging on
to a strap in a train or taking
a bath. That gave me inspiration
many times, allowing me to
overcome difficulties.
Therefore,
when you cannot come up with any
solution, I recommend you to
have a defiant attitude although
it may not work for everyone
because each has a different
character and mind. A
defiant attitude does not have
to be the same for all the
people. Some may throw
a dice to make a decision, and
some may kick off others (of
course, metaphorically) and
start a new life. It is at least
much better than having a
nervous breakdown or giving in
to despair.
